Viagra Super Active is a soft gelatin capsule containing 100 mg of sildenafil, made in India. It isn't a Pfizer product and isn't licensed in Spain; in fact no sildenafil softgel is licensed anywhere in the EU.

What «Super Active» actually means
It isn't a medical term or a stronger dose. It's a marketing name some Indian manufacturers use for sildenafil softgels, with «Viagra» borrowed without Pfizer's say-so. Inside is sildenafil, the same drug as in Viagra and its generics, at the same amount as the 100 mg tablet.
Because it isn't licensed, no European agency has reviewed the formula or the factory. Ask us for the manufacturer and batch number before ordering if you want to know where it comes from.
Liquid inside, so faster?
Softgel sellers say pre-dissolved sildenafil is absorbed faster and works within 20 to 30 minutes. Spain happens to have a way of testing that idea: Bandol, a licensed sildenafil you take as a liquid, measured out with a pump. Its product information gives exactly the same timing as a tablet: peak levels 30 to 120 minutes after a dose, 60 minutes on average, and an hour later after food. It tells you to take it about an hour before sex.
So in the forms regulators have actually assessed, having the drug already dissolved hasn't been shown to bring the effect forward. For Viagra Super Active itself, no study reviewed by a European agency exists.
One capsule, one dose
Sildenafil tablets come in 25, 50 and 100 mg, and Bandol can be adjusted press by press. A softgel can't be cut. With Viagra Super Active your only choices are 100 mg or going over the limit. Use the slider to see what the product information says about each dose.

Bigger packs bring the price per capsule down, but 390 capsules is years of occasional use. Don't buy in bulk until a doctor has confirmed you need 100 mg.
How sildenafil is taken
- About an hour before sex, ideally not straight after a heavy meal.
- It only works with sexual arousal and doesn't increase desire.
- One dose in 24 hours, never two, even if the first didn't work.
- Its half-life is 3 to 5 hours, so the effect lasts a few hours.
When not to take it

Side effects
More than 1 man in 10 gets a headache. Flushing, dizziness, a blocked nose, nausea, heartburn and blurred or tinted vision are common too. Bear in mind that each capsule is already the highest dose.

- an erection lasts 4 hours or more;
- your sight or hearing goes suddenly;
- your face or throat swells.

With a prescription a Spanish pharmacy can supply sildenafil tablets in 25, 50 or 100 mg, chewables, melt-in-the-mouth tablets or Bandol. On this site:

No. There's no reliable way to split it, which is why it doesn't suit anyone told to take 25 or 50 mg.
How quickly does it work?
There are no data assessed in Europe for this product. Even licensed liquid sildenafil is taken an hour beforehand.
Is it stronger than normal Viagra?
No. It contains 100 mg, the same as Viagra's highest tablet.
Super Active or Soft?
One is a capsule, the other a chewable; both are unlicensed sildenafil. Viagra Soft also comes in 50 mg.
